The Caribbean Twist restaurant, formerly located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, was the number one spot in the city for Jamaican cuisine. While their food may have been top notch, their brand was in dire need of an update. It was extremely outdated and lacked consistency.
The objective with this project was to create a brand that was cheerful, colorful, and fun; something that truly represented the personality, and culture, of the restaurant and its friendly atmosphere. Once the new identity was in place, it was then carried through every aspect of the business from signage to promos, menus, photography, clothing and more.
One of the best things about this project (aside from eating the best Jamaican food the city had to offer almost every day) was the working relationship with the restaurant owner. There was a lot of trust and flexibility when it came to the overall vision for the brand. The freedom to explore ideas and collaborate on the final result was critical in the development process.
